Smash the Scale focuses on the idea that numbers on a scale do not define people. You are encouraged to grab a sledgehammer and smash weighing scales!* Join the program to also take pictures in a photo booth, grab an ice cream and play yard games.

Yoga for Mental Health

SRWC Farber Fitness Room

Learn yoga and meditation practices that improve mental health, boost emotional well-being and promote academic success! Each class includes physical yoga practice, breathing exercises and guided meditation. Our meditations and breathing exercises will stimulate your parasympathetic nervous system to help you relax and stay focused on your coursework, while our yoga flows will help improve your posture. Return each week to learn about new mindfulness philosophies such as affirmations and visualization techniques.

Consistent attendance is strongly encouraged! Attend two, six and 10 consecutive classes to receive a FREE giveaway. After each class, attendees will also be entered into an opportunity drawing. At the end of the semester, three winners will be selected to win: A yoga bundle, a $25 49er Shops gift card and a $10 Shake Smart gift card. The more classes you attend, the more entries you receive!

Movies on the House: "I Feel Pretty"

Join us for Movies on the House screening "I Feel Pretty"! Movies are FREE for Long Beach State students. Get the full cinema experience on-campus! Concessions will be available for purchase, and opportunity drawings will be held throughout the night for attendees.

In I FEEL PRETTY a woman who struggles with feelings of deep insecurity and low self-esteem, that hold her back everyday, wakes from a brutal fall in an exercise class believing she is suddenly a supermodel. With this newfound confidence she is empowered to live her life fearlessly and flawlessly, but what will happen when she realizes her appearance never changed?
