What is the default and forfeit policy?
Every scheduled game matters. Defaults and forfeits reduce playing opportunities for other teams and participants. The following policy helps keep games on schedule and supports a positive experience for everyone.
Defaults
A default occurs when your team notifies the league supervisor that it cannot attend a game at least six hours before the scheduled start time.
- Two defaults in one season count as one forfeit.
- Three defaults in one season disqualify your team from the playoffs.
Forfeits
A forfeit occurs when your team does not attend a game and either fails to notify the league supervisor or provides less than six hours’ notice.
- First and second forfeits: Each results in a $10 penalty, payable at the Intramural Desk at least one day before your team’s next game. If the penalty is not paid, your team will be removed from the schedule until payment is received.
- Third forfeit: Your team will be removed from the schedule and disqualified from the playoffs.
-
Can my team request specific game times?
Schedule requests are not guaranteed. Your team should be prepared to play during all scheduled game times and have enough players available to avoid forfeits.
Submit schedule requests only after your team has reached the minimum number of required players.
