The Student Recreation & Wellness Center (SRWC) takes pride in the wide range of inclusive events and resources offered year-round, and this semester will be no different. We’ve got an exciting slate of events coming up this season, so don’t miss out!

Kicking off the inclusive events is Mario Kart Wheelchair Racing, which will hit the racetrack on Feb. 25 from 4 to 6 p.m. The race will bring Mario Kart to life with the use of wheelchairs, hats, balloons and maybe even some bananas! Compete with your fellow students in a fun, competitive environment, and who knows – you could win some amazing prizes!

Coming up next in the inclusive series is the Dark Climb on Feb. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. This challenging event will put your instincts to the test as you attempt to climb the SRWC Rock Wall while completely blindfolded. Come alone or with a partner to reach the goal of 3 complete routs. The fastest climbers will receive some awesome prizes, so don’t be afraid to give the Dark Climb a shot!

More inclusive events will occur throughout the spring semester, so keep an eye out. Beyond just events, the SRWC is also committed to providing accessible equipment. From an ADA compliant pool lift to several wheelchair-accessible upper body exercise machines, the SRWC works to ensure that all students and members can enjoy the facilities they pay for, regardless of able-status. Read about the accessible building features within the SRWC to see other ways in which the aims to ensure recreational opportunities for everyone.

The SRWC’s Inclusive program puts it a step above ordinary gyms, and it’s enhanced by students and members like you that join in on the fun. We hope to see you at Mario Kart Wheelchair Racing so you can see what Inclusive is all about!
