Special Feature

As the end of the semester approaches, so does finals season. It’s easy to let your workout routine slip when you’re stressed out about exams but maintaining your physical and mental health is more important than ever. Taking a mental health break or taking the time to exercise does not have to interfere with your study schedule. Here at the SRWC, we offer a variety of options to recharge and stay balanced during the stress of finals.

We recommend you set aside an hour to 45 minutes of your day to try out a group fitness course. These courses are free for all members. From Pilates, and cycling, to open-box training, there’s a class fit for everyone! Check out the dates and times those classes occur on the SRWC Go App and reserve your spot. If an hour is a lot for you to give up, take 30 minutes to walk on the treadmill to ease your mind.

If you notice that stress is taking a toll on your mental health, head up to the second floor to visit Beach Balance. You can check-in and enjoy the peaceful environment for studying. They also offer weekly events Monday through Friday to help you relax. For example, on Wind Down Wednesday hammocks are set up for members to study or take a nap and on Mindful Mondays, you can learn how to practice mindfulness. You can also treat yourself to a 30-minute massage from Beach Balance!

Dedicating even a little time each day to move your body or clear your mind can make all the difference in how you manage stress and stay focused. So, take the time to recharge and finish the semester on a strong note!
