Love Your Body Week (LYBW) is right around the corner! We will be having a full week of virtual activities dedicated to body positivity and self-affirmation from April 12 through April 15. During this week, the Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC) will be hosting Chrissy King, a fitness and strength coach with a passion for creating a diverse and inclusive health environment. King’s event, "Finding Freedom Beyond Fitness" will empower you to love your body, join us for this special feature on April 13.
King will be discussing her strength and wellness journey, including her mindset and how her goals changed throughout it. In the beginning, she focused on the stereotypical beliefs society has of a woman’s body, but nonetheless reared her thoughts on feeling radiant, fierce, confident, and worthy in herself. Her goal is to have other women comprehend that their goals should be solely fixed on personal gains and achieve a positive change in mindset. Women should feel empowered in their skin and not be ashamed if they don’t fit society’s standards.
