With the current climate of the pandemic, keeping track of a self-care routine can be extremely difficult. Maintaining proper self-care is essential for your overall well-being. Self-care can be categorized into different types, but there are two main ones, physical and mental.
Physical self-care includes eating nutrient-dense meals, maintaining a daily skincare routine, getting enough sleep and staying active. Mental self-care activities include taking a mental break from being immersed in deliverables, schoolwork, or online meetings by engaging in your favorite pastime or hobby. Here are some tips to include in your self-care routine!
- Stretching for 10 minutes after sitting for long periods
- Staying hydrated by always having a water bottle nearby
- Trying out some new recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and desserts
- Playing video games, drawing, listening to music, or reading a favorite book
- Staying social and connected by video calling or talking to friends
Developing a consistent self-care routine can be burdensome at first. When getting started you can use a device to set reminders or schedule a block of time to rest in your calendar.
