Intramurals create a fun and competitive environment for all students. They are a great way for students to participate in sports they want to try and experience physical, mental and social well-being. It’s an opportunity to encourage all students to get involved in physical activity while taking a break from their stressful workload.
Participation in intramural sports and other physical activities positively affects the brain's biochemistry, improving study habits and grades. Intramurals hold a special significance on college campuses and every student should take this opportunity to participate while they can! At our events, students can meet other students with similar interests and stay active while having fun. You don’t have to be super experienced in a sport to participate and we offer several sports for students through our Open Rec, tournaments and leagues. Tournaments are free, but if those don’t work for you, we offer an Open Rec schedule and offer a variety of sports such as pickleball, racquetball, squash and badminton. Our courts and equipment are free for students to use and can be checked out using your student ID number. If video games are a better fit for you, we offer Esports tournaments throughout the semester as well.
The popularity of Intramurals has grown as we have almost doubled the number of students taking part in Intramural leagues and tournaments from Spring 2022 to Fall 2022. Each semester we look to welcome and meet new students who are eager to sign up and take part in our events.
